The Venue is a 1 day festival organized by a downtown Rochester based, non-profit organization, C4 (concerned citizens for a creative community) It is a day to celebrate the arts through a gathering to bring the community together to display and view a broad spectrum of art. Galleries of local visual artists, interactive art projects, local musicians and vending will fill the day. 100% of the profits will be applied to a Rochester public art project. Attendees will have the chance to vote on 1 of 3 projects that they would like to see happen.
Our Objectives:
-Provide a “Venue” for the exhibition of local artists for their work.
-Provide a “Venue” for the public to participate and view a broad spectrum of local art & culture.
................a Venue of expression.
Our ultimate mission is to foster arts through the promotion and fundraising of community art programs and projects. We value education and public awareness of arts and culture, and strongly promote an emphasis on participation. We will present and produce innovative projects that will focus on increasing community awareness, understanding, and appreciation of art and culture. While coordinating shared resources to reach mutually beneficial goals we will work with the community by collaborating with multiple local artists to help raise and leverage funds that create opportunities for them to develop and create new art.
An artist co-op, fun, right! The Venue will be sponsoring an activity on Friday, September 21st 5-10. The Venue will furnish canvas and materials for local artists to ban together and create individual pieces of art that will be displayed the day of the Venue festival on Oct. 6th. Check it out on Facebook!
All artists are welcome, and please feel free to contribute and bring any other mediums or supplies that you would like to use or share.
Be in the alley with bells and brushes! This amazing production will be revealed the day of the festival!
