The Venue is a one-day art festival to celebrate and bring awareness to the benefits of arts and culture in our community. Doors will open at 4pm on September 21 start with FAMILY TIME from 4-6 pm, when families may enter for a $30.00 ticket. They can then participate in family-geared art activities, view art exhibits, and enjoy local vending and music from Pure Rock Studios. The music and entertainment will continue at 6:30 with the featured musician line-up, continual art projects, and galleries. Last year’s VENUE brought in over 400 guests, and we expect that this year’s VENUE will be even more successful. Ticket prices are $20 pre-event, $25 at door, $100 VIP, and $30.00 for families from 4-7pm. A variety of food and beverage providers will set up vending for event attendees for purchase.
C4 (Concerned Citizens for a Creative Community) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to act as connective tissue for Rochester’s arts culture, breaking down barriers to participation for artists, audiences, and creative people. We promote education and public awareness of arts & culture, and strongly emphasize participation. In keeping with this mission, C4 presents THE VENUE, a festival that celebrates the arts by bringing the community together. THE VENUE features galleries of local visual artists, interactive art projects, local musicians, and local vending. We will present and produce innovative projects that focus on increasing community awareness, understanding, and appreciation of art. Through THE VENUE, C4 will coordinate shared resources to reach mutually beneficial goals. We will work with the community by collaborating with multiple local artists to raise and leverage funds that create opportunities for them to develop new art.
- Provide a “VENUE” for the exhibition of local artists for their work.
- Provide a “VENUE” for the public to participate and view a broad spectrum of local art & culture
All proceeds from THE VENUE will go toward providing programs and events that build the capacity of a broad range of skilled local artists through C4 programming. In the past year C4 has raised its profile in Rochester and gained a huge following. We have done so by continually aligning our work with our mission of removing barriers and connecting people. Through our e-newsletter, Facebook, Twitter, website, and regular programming, C4 estimates that we reach over 2,000 local and regional constituents weekly.
